You need these ingredients (2 people):

  • 2 onions
  • 2.5 cloves of garlic
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 160 g Basmati rice
  • 5g coriander , fresh
  • 30g hazelnut kernels, whole
  • 2 tbsp turmeric
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 300 ml water
  • 1/2 lemon(s)

Golden carrot and garlic rice

All the ingredients ready? Then let's get started!

  1. Peel and grate carrots.
  2. Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices.
  3. Peel and chop the onion.
  4. Heat some oil in a pot and roast the turmeric for 1 minute.
  5. Add carrots and onion. Fry for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add garlic and stir well.
  7. Add rice and stir.
  8. Add water and cook with the lid closed over medium heat for 20 minutes.
  9. Meanwhile, cut the lemon into wedges.
  10. Wash the coriander , shake it dry and chop it finely.
  11. Roast hazelnuts in a pan without oil over medium heat. Let cool briefly.
  12. Roughly chop the hazelnuts.
  13. Serve rice with lemon and roasted hazelnuts and enjoy.
