About Us
Die Stadtgärtner are Derk, Jan, and Torge. Since 2012, the three guys have been producing growing gift items designed to bring sustainable joy. Their intention: to make the world greener and more colorful. The product range includes everything from seed bombs, seeds, and growing kits to growing greeting cards, planters, and natural good-luck charms. In collaboration with Lebenshilfe, almost all products are handmade in Germany. It all began during their university years, when the idea first took root amid dreary urban canyons of taking on the grayness of cities. Torge recalls: "At first, we had no intention of turning it into a business. But over time, we received more and more inquiries, so we decided to open our first Dawanda shop (now Etsy)." What began as fun and a small source of extra income is now an ambitious young company that places great importance on quality, design, and customer wishes. The Stadtgärtner's products can now be found in more than 500 stores. In spring 2019, Die Stadtgärtner rolled their 5 millionth seed bomb. What started small is growing proudly. The original three guys have since been joined by six more Stadtgärtner, who are spread across Nordhorn and Lübeck.
