Our wildflower sponsorship
We make the world colorful. And you can join in by purchasing or gifting a wildflower sponsorship for 10, 25, 50, or 100 m². We then sow colorful flowers there. So our wildflower sponsorship not only makes your loved ones happy, but also brings joy to numerous bees, bumblebees, and butterflies!
The idea behind the wildflower sponsorship:
We want to make the world more colorful! That has been our goal since we were founded. And where better to start than right outside our own front door? Said and done. We sat down with farmers from the region and presented our idea: We want to transform formerly agriculturally used land back into colorful wildflower meadows. (Ideally, of course, many, many hectares, preferably throughout Germany. But one step at a time...)
We initially secured areas in our home region, the County of Bentheim, and more than 50,000 m² of wildflower meadow are already growing there - for bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and more. Incredible! None of this would have been possible without our wildflower sponsors. It is only with your help that we can make our idea of making the world a little more colorful a reality!
At a glance

What is a wildflower sponsorship?
A wildflower sponsorship is a donation to create wildflower areas, protect the climate, and preserve biodiversity. Formerly agricultural land is transformed by us into colorful wildflower meadows thanks to your donation, creating valuable habitat for insects, birds, and other endangered species. We take care of everything, and you receive regular updates by email and on Instagram.
I have the code. How can I activate my flower sponsorship?
The activation code for the "Stadtgärtner flower sponsorship" can be activated at www.blumenwiesen.online. Simply visit the website and enter the code.
Why are flower areas so important?
Bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and many other animal species are finding less and less food and habitat. Contrary to what many people assume, flower areas are particularly rare in rural areas and are being replaced by monoculture fields. Pesticide contamination is still a major problem as well! That is why, with your active support, we want to create more flower areas again - as a source of food and habitat, they can help counteract insect decline and thus preserve biodiversity.
Where is "my" flower meadow?
We started creating flower areas right on our doorstep, in Nordhorn and the surrounding area. This year, you can find our flower meadows on the bypass road in Nordhorn (GPS: 52°27'08.5"N 7°05'19.5"E) and at Alkendiek (GPS: 52°27'37.9"N 7°06'01.1"E). It was important to us to start locally and lend a hand directly on site. For us, this is the first logical step. But who knows what the future holds? Of course, we hope that one day we will be able to bring areas into bloom throughout Germany.
When is the sowing carried out?
We plant each activated flower sponsorship in the following year. So, for example, if you purchase a flower sponsorship in November 2025, we secure the corresponding additional areas in January 2026, and the corresponding number of square meters is then sown in spring 2026. We will keep you informed here or through our newsletter (see below) about the sowing, the development of the meadow, and all further steps!
Which plants are sown?
We sow native wildflowers and herbs that are well adapted to the climate and location. The seed mixture is specially tailored to bees and other insects and provides both food and habitat. If our big dream comes true and we’re able to lease fallow land for several years and turn it into flower areas, the seed mixture that is sown will naturally consist of perennial, winter-hardy plants that continue to develop and reseed themselves the following year.
Can I visit “my” flower meadow?
If you’re from Nordhorn or the surrounding area, you’re very welcome to visit our flower meadows! The map above shows you exactly where to find our flower areas.
Can I pick the flowers from my meadow?
That would be rather counterproductive. The flowers are intended solely for the busy bees and their friends. Picking them is therefore strictly prohibited. ;)
What impact does my flower sponsorship have?
Plenty! From an ecological perspective, your flower sponsorship makes an important contribution. You create new habitats and a food source for animals and help the soil regenerate. You contribute to greater biodiversity. This isn’t just about bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Soil-dwelling animals, spiders, birds, and small animals such as mice or hamsters also find a protected retreat, nesting sites, and winter quarters here.
Can I cancel my flower sponsorship?
You don’t have to! Your flower sponsorship is a one-time donation. It expires after one year.
