Seed Mixes - About Our Scatter Meadows
If you already have tennis elbow from throwing Seed Bombs because you love colourful flower meadows so much, the Scatter Meadow is an easy and convenient alternative. Essentially, it works like a giant salt shaker, allowing you to add the necessary seed seasoning to your garden, balcony boxes or bare areas in your city.
To ensure that the seeds can be distributed evenly, we have also added dry coconut granulate. In total, you can scatter it over an area of about 5 square metres. Simply open the can and distribute it over bare soil.
Our Scatter Meadows - The good thing about them is what's inside!
- All varieties contain high-quality locally sourced seed for colourful wildflower meadows. As for the contents of the Scatter Meadows, the name of each variety says it all. You can find a complete list of all the species included on the product page for each Scatter Meadow in the description.
- If you store the Scatter Meadows in a cool, dry place, we guarantee germination for at least one year. However, if your supply of Scatter Meadows cans gets forgotten among all the ravioli and sweetcorn cans in your pantry, you can still use them after one year has passed. Some seeds may no longer germinate by then, but the Scatter Meadows contain enough seed that you probably won't even notice.
Annual or perennial...that is the question!
All the seed mixes in our Scatter Meadows are annual mixes. What does that mean? It means that you can admire the wildflower meadow in all its splendour in the first year after sowing, without having to wait until the following year or even the year after that, as is often the case with perennial mixes.
Germination begins about 14 days after scattering. After a total of 6 to 8 weeks, your colourful wildflowers will be in full bloom, depending on the season and weather conditions. Shortly before the end of flowering, the wildflowers reseed themselves, so with a little luck you can look forward to the next generation the following year.
Get your pots ready, set, go!
Unfortunately, you don't happen to own a 5-Joch field? No problem! You can also easily sow our Scatter Meadows in your flower pots. So you know what to expect, we have listed the heights you can expect below:
- Wild & Colourful: approx. 30 - 130 centimetres
- Sweet & Buzzing: approx. 30 - 100 centimetres
- Peaceful & Dreamy: approx. 50 - 70 centimetres

A tip for all allotment gardeners:
If our "Scatter and Enjoy" instructions sound too simple to you and you would like to create the best possible conditions for your wildflower meadows, you can lightly rake the seeds into the soil after scattering them. Please make sure that the seeds do not end up deeper than 1 centimeter in the soil, as they will otherwise be lost. This precaution ensures that the seeds are not caught and carried away by a gust of wind or eaten by birds.

There were so many different seeds. I have a wonderful flower meadow, and whenever one variety starts to fade, a new variety with a different color appears. I am not the only one happy about it; the bees, bumblebees, and other insects that diligently visit my meadow are too. I think it is great and will definitely order these seeds again next year.
It contains some beautiful flowers. I did not prepare everything optimally and perhaps that is why I had to wait longer. There was not much to see in the first year. But now, in the second year, it is blooming beautifully.
What a shame about the terrible name, because insects and birds are delighted with this "nasty" offering. Really, no garden should be without a little corner planted with this mix. - I would love to see a different name for this mix. ❤️
