Birthday cards - More than just a birthday greeting
Birthday cards are so much more than just a simple greeting. In a world full of quickly typed WhatsApp messages and emails, a handwritten birthday card has a very special charm. It shows: "I was thinking of you" and is guaranteed to bring a smile to the birthday person's face.
The story of the birthday card
The tradition of sending birthday cards dates back centuries. As early as the 15th century, handwritten letters of congratulations were sent in Europe as a sign of appreciation. With the invention of printing in the 19th century, greeting cards were produced in larger quantities for the first time, making them affordable for more people. Today, birthday cards are widespread throughout the world and an integral part of birthday traditions.
Buy a birthday card
You can buy birthday cards almost anywhere these days. In the city, you'll find them in drugstores like dm and Rossmann, in kiosks, supermarkets, and stationery shops. However, many people prefer to buy birthday cards online these days. The advantage: the selection of birthday cards online is vast, and there's a perfect card for every occasion.
Our tip: Buy a few birthday cards with different designs to have on hand. That way you'll always have some suitable greeting cards at home and be perfectly prepared when birthdays of friends, family or colleagues are coming up.
A special birthday greeting: Growing birthday cards from "The City Gardeners"
If you're looking for special birthday cards , you'll love our growing greeting cards! Our A6-sized folded cards are not only beautifully designed and come with a matching envelope, but they also have a very special feature: colorful wildflowers grow right out of them! 🌸
How does it work? Our greeting cards feature colorful shapes made of seed paper or seed sticks . The birthday person can then peel these off and plant them – and soon beautiful wildflowers will sprout. This way, your greeting becomes a blooming memory that will bring joy for a long time to come.
Environmentally friendly, socially responsible and sustainable: Our birthday greeting cards
The best part: Our expanding birthday cards are not only creative, but also environmentally friendly. The folding cards are made from 100% PEFC-certified kraft paper from sustainably managed forests. They are also produced in Germany in cooperation with workshops for people with disabilities.
Birthday cards for every occasion
Not every birthday card is suitable for every occasion or recipient. While some prefer classic designs, others love more unusual motifs. Greeting cards for children are usually colorful and playful. To help you find the perfect card for every birthday child, we offer a wide variety of designs for our growing collection of birthday cards.
Should you happen to be a little late with your birthday greetings, we even have the perfect card for belated birthday cards with the inscription " Belated but from the heart ".
