The history of Mother's Day
Although it is often claimed that Mother's Day is an invention of the flower trade, this is actually not the case. Mother's Day originally arose from the American women's movement. 🇺🇸 Its founder is considered to be Anna Marie Jarvis, who organized a Memorial Mothers Day Meeting on the second anniversary of her mother's death in May 1907. The following year, the service was dedicated to all mothers and 500 white carnations were distributed to the mothers present. Afterwards, Anna Marie Jarvis launched an initiative with the goal of introducing an official holiday to honor mothers. And with success: in 1914, Mother's Day was officially celebrated for the first time in the USA. 35 years later, it was also declared a holiday in Germany and has since been the day each year when we say thank you to mom with small gifts.
When is Mother's Day?
Mother's Day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday in May. The date changes every year: in 2024, Mother's Day falls on May 12, while in 2025 we will celebrate Mother's Day on May 11.

I ordered two sets at the end of July and gave one away, which was very well received. The packaging is very nice and so is the variety of *bombs*. This year, I haven’t dared to just throw seed bombs into the landscape because of the drought. But something is already growing in the flower box; whether the plants will grow big, I don’t know, it’s already late in the year. And seed bombs have also sprouted in my friend’s garden. Next spring, we’ll really get started.
