Easter gifts for children and grandchildren: Meaningful, colorful & full of adventure
Easter is just around the corner! As the days grow longer and the first bees buzz curiously through the garden, the most exciting time of spring begins for children. Of course, chocolate bunnies are a must in the Easter basket – but let's be honest: the best thing about Easter is the shared adventure outdoors in nature, isn't it?
Here you'll find Easter gifts for children that won't end up forgotten in a corner after two days. We focus on gifts that grow, bloom, and amaze little explorers. Away with the plastic trinkets, into the ground!
Why sustainable Easter gifts make the difference
We believe that a good gift should spark curiosity. When children throw their first flower marble or watch a tiny seed grow into a crisp radish, they learn something that no tablet in the world can teach them.
Sustainable Easter gifts are more than just a trend for us. It's about valuing our environment. Our products are made with love (and often by hand), come in plastic-free packaging, and promote biodiversity. So you're not just giving joy, but also a piece of the future. And by the way: Congratulations again to the winners of this year's Easter giveaway! Your Easter baskets are already filled with your hand-painted flower marbles, which we produced. Thanks again for participating!

Meaningful little things for the Easter basket: Joy that takes root
What makes an Easter gift truly meaningful? For us, it's the combination of physical activity, creativity, and DIY. Here are our favorites for this year's Easter basket:
- Colorful flower marbles : Perfect for little hands. Simply throw, wait, and make the world a little more colorful.
- Explorer sets: Armed with a magnifying glass and shovel, the garden becomes a research laboratory. Who lives under the stone? And to complete the experience: our flower press , to preserve the most beautiful discoveries forever.
- Own seeds: From sunflowers to colorful carrots - children love to harvest their own vegetables.
Excursion for children: All about the (Easter) egg
We think Easter is the perfect time to learn more about eggs. Where do they come from? Why are they brown or white? How many eggs does a hen lay in a year? We visited the Hümme organic farm near Lübeck and had farmer Lars explain to us where our Easter eggs actually come from.
The perfect adventure for every age
- For very young children (1-3 years): Tactile experience and safety are key. First natural toys made of wood or a sharedraised garden bed on the balcony are ideal.
-
Kindergarten children (3-6 years): Their spirit of discovery is enormous! Seed bomb craft kits are a huge hit here - messy fun included!
- School children (6+ years): Now it gets exciting. How does an ecosystem work? Building their own insect hotel or using complex seed sets will challenge the little professional gardeners.
Time spent together is the greatest gift
At the end of the day, the most beautiful memories are those we create together: hiding in the bushes, the first tender green shoots in the flowerbed, and the proud face when the first flower blooms.
We at the urban gardeners want to help you create these magical moments as close to nature as possible. A packet of seeds in an Easter basket isn't just a simple object – it's a promise of a summer full of butterflies and bountiful harvests.
Your checklist for a green Easter:
-
Durability: Opt for natural materials instead of plastic.
-
Mix & Match: A little bit sweet, a lot lasting (like seeds).
-
Packaging: Upcycling instead of a mountain of trash.
- Action: Plan a joint project, e.g. sowing seeds on Easter Sunday.
We wish you a joyful search, a wonderful discovery, and an Easter that shines in the most beautiful colors of nature!
