Our Plant Sets

Create your own oasis and give yourself and your friends the precious gift of slowing down. We support you with strong, robust plants that come from sustainable cultivation at our herb nursery in Nordhorn and are grown without the use of pesticides. In addition to classic varieties like basil, chives, parsley, and more, you’ll find plenty of unusual varieties full of surprises in scent and taste.

What makes our plants so special?

Herbs and vegetables taste best when freshly harvested from the garden or balcony. And flowers also seem to shine in brighter colors when you grow them yourself. On the way to this goal, every aspiring gardener faces the question: sow seeds yourself or buy plants?

The decisive factor in this decision is: TIME!

Sowing seeds is quick, but it requires regular care and a bright spot on the windowsill or in a garden to successfully raise young plants from seed. If you want to skip this step, you can order live plants for indoors and outdoors online. But the selection often becomes overwhelming.

All too often, we face the large selection in supermarkets or garden centers and see sad specimens that were quickly grown and often have endured long transport routes and numerous pesticide showers. Unlike these unfortunate flowers and herbs, our plants come from the best mother plants and were lovingly raised by the herb nursery Alexander Zierleyn in Nordhorn. We produce the entire variety of our plants ourselves, from seedling to strong young plant. Naturally, completely ecologically without the use of pesticides and without unnecessary waste of resources. You can conveniently and easily order your future green plants in our online shop. They are shipped in a 14-centimeter pot (often poor plants are grown and sold in 9 cm pots) and only when they are robust enough and have reached a respectable size (no young seedlings). Years of gardening experience and passion are the basis for good quality and freshness.

Buying houseplants and garden plants online – a risk?

One of the greatest benefits of our time is probably the fact that it is possible to order almost everything comfortably from the sofa to your home. However, especially with plants for the garden and home, the images in online shops often have little to do with the pitiful shrubs that arrive half-dried at their destination.

Since our plants, just like us, come from Nordhorn, they have neither long transport routes nor are they stored anywhere in between. To give you more security, here is a little crash course on plant shipping:

1. As soon as you have added all your flowers and herbs to the cart and placed your order, Jan in shipping receives your order.
2. Jan then heads to our herb nursery in Nordhorn every Tuesday to check if your plants are ready for the journey to you. Our plants are watered and cared for daily.
3. Next, your ordered plants are carefully packed in paper or wood wool to ensure optimal protection during transport.
4. An enclosed greeting from us informs you again about the most important points to ensure your new green roommates settle in quickly.
5. As soon as your order is packed, it begins its journey the same day.

4 things you absolutely need to know:

1. Shipping days

Because we want our herb boxes to arrive fresh to you and not sit over the weekend in some parcel warehouse, we ship all orders that arrive by Monday at 7 a.m. the following Tuesday. Please make sure you can receive your plants or pick them up immediately from a neighbor or the post office.

2. Pruned back

Sometimes it is necessary to prune plants back to encourage strong growth. Depending on the season, they will sprout again after a short time. So don’t be surprised if some plants are not yet as bushy as in the photo in our online shop.

3. Shipping time

Our plants are not made of plastic and are therefore dependent on the whims of the weather. Sometimes a plant that should already be available needs a little more time due to bad weather to become strong and robust enough. Please understand that we may replace a plant in your box with another if it is not yet ready.

4. Wooden box

We deliver our plants with a beautiful light wooden box. This provides additional protection during transport and can be used in many ways afterward. If you want to plant your herbs in it, we recommend buying the version with our custom-fit jute insert. If you have already ordered your herb box and want to order the jute insert afterward, you can do so here. You just need to fill the box with soil and then you can plant your herbs. You can also place the herbs in their pots inside the box or use the wooden box as decoration. The possibilities are endless.

Your plants have arrived! What now?

Such a journey is exhausting, even for your plants. Give them a little break before repotting or planting them in the garden or the included wooden box. Three days without wind, frost, and direct sun are ideal. And of course, don’t forget to water!
