Father’s Day gifts: Great gift ideas for dad on Father’s Day
Hand on heart: Dad is usually the one who already has everything or doesn’t wish for anything anyway. But when Father’s Day is just around the corner, we want to show him how much he means to us. With us, you’ll find Father’s Day gifts that don’t gather dust on a shelf but grow, bloom, and bring joy.
We at Stadtgärtner believe that the best Father’s Day gifts are those that tell a story and make our nature a little greener. Whether for the passionate hobby gardener, the balcony hero, or the dad with the green thumb (or the one still looking for it), let our green gift ideas inspire you!
The story of Father’s Day
Have you ever wondered why we actually celebrate dad? The tradition of Father’s Day as we know it today has two roots. In Germany, it is closely linked to the Christian holiday of Ascension Day. As early as the 19th century, there were customs here where the men of the village went out together.
At the same time, in the early 20th century, "Father’s Day" was established in the USA as a counterpart to Mother’s Day, initiated by Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honor her father, a Civil War veteran and single parent of six children. Today, the day is above all one thing: a wonderful opportunity to simply say "Thank you" to your dad.
When is Father’s Day?
In Germany, we traditionally celebrate Father’s Day on Ascension Day. That is always exactly 40 days after Easter, which is why the date varies every year. Usually, the special day for dads falls in May, the perfect time to get active outdoors in the garden or on the balcony and plant something new.

What is given for Father’s Day?
When you were probably still little, you made a small gift for your dad in kindergarten or school. But what happens when you grow up? Traditionally, many think of ties, socks, or maybe the obligatory grill tool set for Father’s Day gifts. But honestly: Dad usually already has enough of those. Today, the trend is much more towards personal attentions and sustainable presents.
Especially popular are experiences, time with family, and things that have lasting value. Gifts that support nature are at the top of the list because what could be better than watching something grow together?

Maria
A great gift idea for people who have a garden. My dad will be very happy since he always appreciates “non-material” gifts anyway.
Developing ...
Developing wonderfully! My granddaughter had the most fun finding the right spot.
Just shoot the dad and right there a little butterfly restaurant will appear :-) .

Gifts for the special day: The goal is to make your father happy
At the end of the day, it’s not about how big or expensive a gift was. What really matters is the idea behind it. A gift from Stadtgärtner is more than just an object; it’s an invitation to pause, dig in the earth, and enjoy the little wonders of nature.
It is a feeling / sign that says: "Dad, I thought of you. I appreciate you and our time together." And that is exactly why we put so much love into our products, so your gift is as unique as your dad himself.
This is what our customers say
Really a super cute idea that was well received!!! Thanks. :)
Great quality! Super packaging! I give it as a gift for many different occasions and everyone is always very happy - last time at a children's birthday party, both young and old were equally delighted!
In times like these, when the WORLD really urgently needs a bit more (green) INSPIRATION – and (not just because of Corona and the flood disaster) many of us could use a little piece of "magic" (hope), the idea to pack "Wish Fulfillers" in the form of dandelions in a jar, that’s something! THANK YOU for this little RAY OF LIGHT in these currently – for many of us – quite "dark times." And it’s really nice to see that there are still companies for which more than just pure profit is the focus. Please stay that way. Wishing you and all your loved ones to get through the Corona time well. And above all: stay healthy.
I ordered two sets at the end of July and gave one away, which was very well received. The packaging is very nice and so is the variety of *bombs*. This year, I haven’t dared to just throw seed bombs into the landscape because of the dryness. But something is already growing in the flower box; whether the plants will grow big, I don’t know, it’s already late in the year. And my friend also had bombs sprout in her garden. Next spring, we’ll really get started.
A very beautiful and individual gesture! Shipping was super fast, I’m happy :)
I ordered a few of these cards for the company because we always like to have greeting and congratulation cards in reserve, and since our philosophy includes responsibility and environmental awareness, the card fits us well. Great workmanship, very high quality and appealing. I can only recommend the product.
The Wish Fulfiller was very well received. Unfortunately, I see they have been sold out for a while. Is there hope for a new edition? It would be a shame if not.
I ordered the Wish Fulfillers and they are great for making someone happy... Super friendly team! I can only recommend it.
Dandelions just feel magical. I have given your "Wish Fulfillers" for various occasions and it was always something special. Whether for a birthday, farewell, as a nice guest gift, or for Christmas. It always brought a sparkle to the recipient’s eyes. It’s simply beautiful.
The card is very beautifully designed and also very high quality. From now on, I will only buy these cards; they are an absolute eye-catcher and the flower seeds naturally complete it perfectly.
