What do I need to consider when buying seeds?

One of the important features of the right seeds is quality. This is the prerequisite for a good result - a plant you can enjoy for a long time! Many of our Saatgeschwister come in organic quality and are all produced in Germany by our trusted partner Volmary/Kiepenkerl. The best part: For us, the organic, natural trend does not stop at the contents (i.e. the seeds), but runs like a common thread through the entire design. We also create the packaging from recycled paper, with particular emphasis on naturalness and sustainability! To do this, we have the Saatgeschwister finished at a regional printing company that bears the "Blue Angel" certificate.

We are convinced: Organic vegetables, herbs, and fruit not only taste better, are healthy, and are good for the environment, but also give you a particularly good feeling!

What do I need to bear in mind when sowing?

The most important thing for sowing correctly is, first and foremost, a love of plants and a sense of wonder at nature! That is where it all begins: enjoying watching plants grow and wanting to achieve the best possible result through proper care are the be-all and end-all of sowing. Of course, you are not on your own. On the back of the seed packaging, we explain everything you need to know about the variety in question. And so that even inexperienced gardeners can look forward to a rich harvest without a green thumb, you will find detailed planting instructions inside the packaging. These are also available online on the detail page for the respective seed variety. If you are still unsure, we are always happy to provide advice and assistance by phone! And if you follow our tips and tricks and bring patience and, above all, enthusiasm for working with plants, hardly anything can go wrong!

... and what if it’s not the right time for sowing?

Don’t worry! If the current season isn’t suitable for the seed variety in question, simply set the seed siblings aside and start sowing later, at the right time. The seeds themselves are safely packaged in a germination-protection sachet, and if you store your seed siblings in a cool, dry place, we guarantee a germination capacity of at least one year.

I hadn’t realized how large this plant would grow. I planted 3 seeds right away and they all germinated. Our entire balcony was filled with nasturtiums. It was beautiful, and truly wonderful when they finally bloomed. The flowers also look very nice in salads.

This was the first time I sowed vegetables myself, including these chilies. I started the plants indoors and later moved them to a planter on my south-facing balcony. In my opinion, they were the best beginner-friendly vegetable plants on my balcony, and I was able to harvest an incredible number of chili peppers.

They’re so wonderful, these cornflowers. They just keep blooming and blooming, in the pot on the balcony, and are very insect-friendly! They lean a little to the side because the stems are long - a bit wild, but very beautiful. I’ll order again and give some as gifts too.
