Upcycling old fruit crates

For a few weeks now, we've been offering old fruit crates . These crates are ideal for making a variety of things. For example, we use them to make the planters you can buy in our shop . They can also be used to make shelves, aquariums, dog food stands, tables, and much more. Here's an overview:

1. I think the idea of ​​building a dog buffet out of a crate is very original. It's actually quite easy to do; you just saw two large holes in the bottom and then place metal bowls inside. It's practical and looks great! Detailed instructions are available at Designsponge .
2. It's pretty easy to build a coffee table from four fruit crates . I really like the version with a glass top, which I found on Facebook . A simpler version can be admired on Etsy . Unfortunately, I couldn't find any instructions, but I think the pictures speak for themselves.
3. This idea is bold and may require a major renovation: Replace all the kitchen cabinets with brightly painted fruit or wine crates ! It looks really great, but it's not really for those with modern decor :) You can see the whole thing at casadefilo . If you want to read the text, you should brush up on your Portuguese first! Something similar can also be done in the bathroom, where the fruit crates can be used as towel racks, for example. We found an example at goodshomedesign , but you'll have to imagine replacing the wicker basket with a fruit crate.

6. This example isn't really that different from the dressers in point 5, but because the use is different and I think the site is so great, it's worth mentioning: a fruit crate converted into a toy box that we found at recyclart .
7. A little more unusual, but still quite attractive, is the wall aquarium I found at creadoo . If you prefer to house real animals, you can convert the fruit crates into an insect hotel .
